This document is a practical guide designed to support individuals on the autism spectrum throughout the entire process of entering the workforce. Throughout the text, readers will find step-by-step guidance on how to search for jobs strategically, identify their skills and interests, prepare a resume and cover letter, as well as specific tips for approaching job interviews with greater confidence.
In addition, the document offers tools for retaining a job once it has been secured, improving social skills in the workplace, and recognizing personal strengths. It also includes examples of sectors and types of jobs suitable for different profiles, as well as reflection exercises to develop personal potential, define values, and build confidence.
Both the German version of the toolkit and its English version for Germany differ in several sections from the toolkit provided to the other countries in the consortium. These differences are the result of adaptations made to address the specific needs identified in the interviews conducted in Germany.
